I am trying to set up a domain server using linux. I would like to make it so that when anyone users one of the 5 other Windows XP computers in my hosue they have to login and then would have access to all their files, no matter what computer they use. I belive the best way to do this is with a domain server. If there is a better way to do this please let me know. If a domain server is the best way to do this how do you set it up. What linux program are you running (I need a free one)?

Which is better for performance and security? I don’t know anything about PHP, website design, database, etc. I will be using a template design from MS Publisher. What would you recommend?

When I connect I get the following error even though the password is correct:

Any idea what is the problem? I have the vsftpd daemon running, but this error persists? Does vsftpd support regular ftp (port 21) or only secure ftp? If it supports regular ftp, any idea what settings I need to fix to remove this problem? If not, can you recommend some ftp server easy to download and install.

I’m a computer geek and run way to many computers and OS’s, I need public opinion on the best sub 100mb linux distro out there. It needs to run fast on a computer with an old 400mHz Celeron and 128mb of RAM. It also needs to have server capabilities. I’ve tried many and can’t make up my mind.

And because it’s needs to convince me, tell me why it’s the best, the person with the answer with the best reason it’s the bast and that’s the one that convinces me most… I will give 10 pts to that person.

I have a Linux VPS and want to install VPN on it to share it’s internet connection but I can’t do it myself. Where I can find a good and cheap service to install and configure a VPN server for me?
